NINHURSAG

Ninhursag is the original and first Mother goddess, she is the source of life. Known in the ancient texts as the Chief Doctor for her healing powers, she genetically engineered the first male human, Adappa, with her half-brother Lord Enki. Once they created the model female from this first human design, she became known as the Lady of The Rib, inspiring the Bible story of creation where a woman was made from Adam's rib. Ninhursag was the ever neutral peacemaker in the family as her two brothers, Enlil and Enki, fought each other with their sons becoming enemies.
